SF Found Fashion in my own closet!

Every time San Francisco gets a heat wave I dig through my bin of warm weather clothes that exists only for these few days a year that the temp reaches above 70 degrees. While pulling out various faves I haven't had the heart to part from even though they only come out about twice a year I came across this BCBG blazer I found at Crossroads Trading Co. last year but have never worn. It is one of those rare finds where you know you won;t get a lot of wear out of in this city but you just have to have it…especially when it is BCBG for only $35! The idyllic seaside landscape inscribed on the blazer gives you the mindset of lounging on the beach yet the sharp edges and jersey inset sleeves create a sophisticated yet comfortable SF outfit. This blazer just goes to show that when you are patient really good things will come…

San Francisco Fashionable Work Outfit

The only thing better than finding a great fashion bargain is getting one for free! Last week my boss let us raid the sample rack and we were like kids in a candy store. I got a lot of great things but my favorite is this white Top Shop dress just in time for Spring. By pairing it with an absurdly fabulous necklace from Aldo and casual H&M sneaks and $60 purple cat eye Ray Bans from Loehmans I was able to comprise a super springy yet super comfortable outfit on a very minimal budget. The most versatile part of the outfit if my Anne Klein watch I got for $25 from Jeremy's Dept. Store. Total outfit…only $180! Just got the dress back from the dry-cleaner so totally wearing this outfit tomorrow...

Pleats!

This look was inspired by Bottega Veneta, an editorial from Vogue and finally a beautiful Dior ad. All of these images together helped me to create the outfit below from pieces I already had in my closet and had never worn together...a BCBG faux fur sweater/jacket from Loehman's, a pleated Forever 21 skirt and a skinny belt I took off another dress from forever 21.

Today's Inspiration

This outfit was inspired while perusing the Fall 2014 shows on Style.com. The first ensemble is from Altuzarra and the combo of hot pink and the more subdued hunter green reminded me that pink does not only have to be worn with bright colors in the spring and summer. Pairing the grey with the pink allows for both pieces to be viewed on their own wihtout blending into one another. The top is made by Forever 21 and the pants by H&M but paid next to nothing for both at Crossroads Trading Company on Fillmore. I only paid about $38 for the whole outfit!

Layering!

As many San Francisco women have learned, layering is key to living in this city. Especially if you want to wear your dresses. I have found that layering a dress over jeans is a really cute way to stay warm while still being able to let your dresses live outside your "I am going to keep this in case I go on vacation somewhere warm" bin. Especially if you are lucky enough to find a cute little wool dress like this one. Got this one for $8 at Out of the Closet on Polk Street and it is by far one of my favorite found fashion buys. I layered it over a pair of worn in American Eagle jeans I have had for a hundred years and accessorized with a Big Buddha handbag from DSW, and Forever 21 booties and necklace. Whole outfit only cost about $140!
