A peak into my closet...

My closet is like my own little fashion oasis. I have it all to myself (thanks to my loving fiancĂ©) and have turned it into a fashion "think-box" if you will. Posted on the wall are images of outfits that inspire me when I pick my outfit for the day. I always look at inspiration to help me get dressed, whether it is the pictures on the wall or my iPhoto stream compiled of images from everywhere from Pinterest, Style.com and my favorite bloggers. I try to make sure I can see all of my clothes which is why my pants are smushed onto a $12 target rolling rack leftover from my fashion styling class photo shoot. If you can't see your clothes you will forget about them…same goes for jewelry which is why all my necklaces are hung on wire hangers. Not classy but I never forget I own any piece of jewelry. My favorite daily fashion inspiration? A photo of Natalie Wood my sister printed off the internet and had framed for me for Christmas. Looking at beautiful old-school Hollywood style icons will get any girl in the mood to get dressed…even on a Monday morning!

Nasty Gal Sweet Summer Dresses

Getting a little nostalgic about my life as a student I was getting caught up on my Alma Mater's goings on via their fashion blog (Fashion School Daily). I came upon an article on one of my favorite fashion entrepreneurs Sophia Amoruso the founder of Nasty Gal and she was reminiscing on her days working as an Academy of Art student ID checker around the time she first started selling vintage wares in Ebay. As you know we have had an unseasonably warm summer in San Francisco and while I usually do not spend money on cutesy summer dresses (seeing as I usually only get to wear them a few times a year) the consistent 75 degree weather has forced me to expand my closet. I found these crazy cute ones on Nastygal.com and as you can see there are so many options it is impossible to choose just one!

Napa Wedding Outfit

I had the perfect outfit picked out for my friend's Napa wedding this coming weekend. Until I spoke to her and found out that my outfit was too dressy and my stiletto heels would surely sink into the ground as the reception was outside. Given that I had just dropped $200 to ship my wedding dress to my mother I was not in the mood to spend a fortune on a new outfit. But ever the fashionista, I wanted to look like I had spend a fortune. Enter Out of the Closet and their fantastic selection of dresses. I ended up walking out with a fantastic Esprit midi dress and one back up just in case form Banana Republic. Total for the 2 dresses…$13!! Each one was $6.50 and in great shape. This is why I visit this thrift store at least once a week. The dress below is the Esprit dress and it's mid-length and wistful flow are perfect for a summer Napa wedding.

Dress: Esprit from Out of the Closet ($6.50)
Shoes: Dizzy from DSW ($19.99)
Bag: DSW ($35)
